A couple weekends ago Rob and I went on our first vacation with baby Ray Ray…we rented a super cute beachfront cottage for four nights on New Smyrna Beach, we brought Bauer…and every item we deemed to possibly be important.

Going on vacation was a huge confidence boost for us. Reagan went with us everywhere. Typically as a type ‘A’ planner I like to try and figure out all aspects of a scenario, but when I’m on vacation I like to relax and go with the flow. And on vacation I am able to clearly see that it’s just not possible to plan for every scenario, which is helpful since I have the best baby ever, she is totally chill, adapting, smiling and overcoming new experiences. She’s the perfect complement to my personality; she’s like her Daddy, very easy going.

I have to give a shout out to the most amazing coffee house, Hottie Coffee, we went here every morning. The owner Laurie was super nice, and the coffee…Oh. My. Gosh. Amazing! They roast it there and it’s the smoothest, tastiest coffee I’ve ever had.  Hot or iced, it’s definitely THE place to get your coffee in New Smyrna.  Did I mention they put coffee iced cubes in your iced coffee? Yeah, try it and thank me when you do.

Both Rob and I love the beach, every time we take a beach vacation we watch the sunrise and take walks on the beach…it was cool to share this with Reagan, Bauer came along too. New Smyrna is not too dog friendly, you have to go to the dog friendly part, but since we stayed right on the beach, Bauer broke the rules a few times. Reagan thinks anything Bauer does is hilarious so watching her watch him on the beach brought smiles to all our faces.

We had the best time, definitely a memorable first family vacation…but words don’t really do it justice, that’s why I made a video. Please excuse the vertical iPhone videos…I really need to remember to hold the phone horizontally if I want to make a video out of it…hope you enjoy.
